God’s Accuracy

Brent Armstrong

God’s  accuracy may be observed in the hatching of  eggs.

For example:

-the eggs of the  potato bug hatch in 7 days;

-those of  the  canary in  14 days;

-those of the barnyard hen in 21  days;

-The eggs of ducks and geese hatch in  28 days;

-those of the mallard in 35  days;

-The eggs  of the parrot and the ostrich hatch in 42  days.

(Notice, they are all divisible by seven, the number of days in a week!)

God’s  wisdom is seen in the making of an  elephant… The four legs of this great beast  all bend forward in the same direction.. No  other quadruped is so made. God planned that this  animal would have a huge body, too large to  live on two legs… For this reason He gave it  four fulcrums so that it can rise from the  ground easily.

The horse rises from the ground on its two front legs first.

A cow rises from the ground with its two hind legs first.

How wise the Lord is in all His works of creation!

God’s  wisdom is revealed in His arrangement of sections and segments, as well as in  the number of grains.

Each  watermelon has an even number of stripes on the  rind.

Each orange has an even number of  segments.

Each ear of corn has an even  number of rows.

Each  stalk of wheat has an even number of  grains.

Every bunch of bananas has on its  lowest row an even number of bananas, and each row  decreases by one, so that one row has an even  number and the next row an odd  number.

The waves  of the sea roll in on shore twenty-six to the  minute in all kinds of  weather.

All grains  are found in even numbers on the stalks, and  the Lord specified thirty fold, sixty fold, and  a hundred fold – all even  numbers.

God has  caused the flowers to blossom at  certain specified times during the day, so  that Linnaeus, the great botanist, once said  that if he had a conservatory containing the  right kind of soil, moisture and temperature,  he could tell the time of day or night by the  flowers that were open and those that were  closed!

The lives  of each of you may be ordered by the Lord in a  beautiful way for His glory, if you will only  entrust Him with your life. If you try to  regulate your own life, it will only be a mess  and a failure..

Only the One Who made the  brain and the heart can successfully guide them  to a profitable end.

On the coldest game of the year, thus far, our team fought hard but lost 0-6. Amphi has a very nice field. There were only a handful of fans and PRCA had more than Amphi.

The Soldier’s Apparel

Brent Armstrong

As we stand ready for the battle that faces us as Christians, we must have on the whole armour of God. Our character as a soldier will depend on the application of those basic principles found in the first part of Ephesians 6. The way we stand as Christians will be determined by how we use the armour mentioned in Ephesians 6:10-18.

The loins girt about with truth – there is no other way we can stand but in the truth of God’s holy Word. Our entire life must be centered around the infallible, inerrant, inspired and preserved Word of God. We must be obedient to the Bible no matter what the cost may be.

The breastplate of righteousness – not our own righteousness but Christ’s. It is by His shed blood that we have the forgiveness of sins. When we stand in the righteousness of Christ there is nothing that the devil can do to shake our sure foundation.

The feet shod with the preparation of the Gospel – speaks of our being ready with eagerness and cheerfulness in whatever task is set before us. This must also include giving a top priority to the preaching of the Gospel.

The shield of faith – when we stand by faith, trusting in the promises of God, there is nothing the devil can do to harm us. The body might suffer due to afflictions and trials on every hand, but the regenerated inner man is ever secure.

The helmet of salvation – the blessedness of knowing for sure and beyond any shadow of doubt that we are saved. The promises of God are very clear when it comes to knowing that our salvation rests in Christ.

The sword of the Spirit – which is the Word of God. The only way we can put the devil to flight and separate truth from error is by the Word’s use. If we will only take and use the sword that God has preserved for us, we will do well in the battle.

Praying always… and watching thereunto with all perseverance – this is where many Christians fail to continue putting on the whole armour of God. How often we fail to ask God for His guidance and for the spiritual discernment needed each day. “Praying always” is our command, watching with all perseverance. We need to be wary of the dangers all around us, and more importantly, we must sound a warning when we see the enemy. Let us put on the whole armour of God and stand as good soldiers of the cross.

He answered, ‘Call for backup.’

At Sunday School they were teaching how God created everything, including human beings.

Little Johnny seemed especially intent when they told him how Eve was created out of one of Adam’s ribs.

Later in the week his mother noticed him lying down as though he were ill, and she said, ‘Johnny, what is the matter?’

Little Johnny responded, ‘I have pain in my side. I think I’m going to have a wife.’

PRCA vs Nogales – Game 3

Brent Armstrong

PRCA lost this 11:00 a.m. game the day after Thanksgiving, 0-9. Another rough game but everyone still continues to play hard.

Jonathan was taken out on this play but no call. Down 0-7 at this point and the ref was not rewarding the hustle of the team that was still striving to play hard.

Jennifer came in for Thanksgiving weekend and it was great to have her here for her brother’s soccer game.

A Sunday school teacher was discussing the Ten Commandments with her five and six year olds.

After explaining the commandment to ‘Honor thy father and thy mother,’ she asked, ‘Is there a commandment that teaches us how to treat our brothers and sisters?’

Without missing a beat, one little boy answered, “Thou shall not kill.”

An elderly woman died last month.

Having never married, she requested no male pallbearers.

In her handwritten instructions for her memorial service, she wrote,

‘They wouldn’t take me out while I was alive, I don’t want them to take me out when I’m dead.”

Three boys are in the school yard bragging about their fathers.

The first boy says, ‘My Dad scribbles a few words on a piece of paper, he calls it a poem, they give him $50.’

The second boy says, ‘That’s nothing. My Dad scribbles a few words on piece of paper,he calls it a song, they give him $100.’

The third boy says, ‘I got you both beat. My Dad scribbles a few words on a piece of paper, he calls it a sermon, and it takes eight people to collect all the money!’

Thought / Humor for the Day

A little girl, dressed in her Sunday best, was running as fast as she could, trying not to be late for Bible class.

As she ran she prayed, ‘Dear Lord, please don’t let me be late! Dear Lord, please don’t let me be late!’

While she was running and praying, she tripped on a curb and fell, getting her clothes dirty and tearing her dress.

She got up, brushed herself off, and started running again!

As she ran she once again began to pray, ‘Dear Lord, please don’t let me be late…But please don’t shove me either!’

Attending a wedding for the first time, a little girl whispered to her mother, ‘Why is the bride dressed in white?”

The mother replied, ‘Because white is the color of happiness, and today is the happiest day of her life.’

The child thought about this for a moment then said, ‘So why is the groom wearing black?’
