Revival: A component necessary – Forgetting
Revival: A Component Necessary = Forgetting – The landlord of a block of rental flats called on one of his tenants, a young artist.
“The rent of your rooms is six months behind,” he commenced; “but times being what they are, I don’t want to be hard on you. I’ll tell you what I propose to do. I’ll meet you halfway – forget half the debt. How about that?”
The tenant smiled gratefully, “That’s fine!” he said, “and I’ll forget the other half.”
“Both halves forgotten! Any two halves make a whole. And the whole of what some people owe me has been forgotten. And what I say, others can say, too.” the landlord.
As we have been instructed, “… forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forth to those things which are before.” The power of forgiveness and then the ability to forget is necessary to achieve personal revival.
