The Price Tag – Caution

Brent Armstrong

As you begin to “DO” and “Change” to be all that Christ desires you to be in this year 2012, then you must accept this word of caution: The Spirit-filled life lived in Christ comes at a price. Actually, everything comes at a price. Nothing is truly free. No matter what it is in life you choose, there will be a price tag attached.

Do you want to be Spirit-filled? You must  spend time with Christ. This requires a “sacrifice” of your time to read and talk with Him. Considering what He sacrificed for us, how can we really call it a sacrifice of our time to spend time with Him?

Do you want to be healthy? The price tag is increased exercise and a diet that encourages a healthy body.

Do you want to have a great family? It will not happen by accident! The price tag is TIME with your family. You must invest your time and talents with your spouse and children. The TV and DVD player cannot be the babysitter in your home. You must invest yourself into the lives of those with which you desire to have a relationship.

Do want nothing? A lack of ambition and desire also comes with a great price tag. The price is usually poverty, sickness, boredom, apathy, mediocrity, bad relationships, broken relationships, poor health, and loneliness!

The reality of life is that you will pay a price, one way or the other. One price tag will point you in the direction and pathway that is pleasing to Him and ultimately offers great fulfillment and satisfaction. The other price tag also can give you exactly what you want – total unfulfillment in life. Either way, you will have paid the price.

Here is the good news; the life you want comes cheaper than the life you do not want. The life you do not want makes you miserable, unhealthy, and with many broken relationships. To me, that is a big price to pay. To me, it is worth the price to be happy, healthy, and holy – the results are eternal!  However, only you can choose what to pay.

Don’t try today; DO today!
